Wooster alumni, friends and family will spend the morning cleaning up
Linden Recreation Center Park in inner-city Columbus. Projects will include
trash pick up, weeding flower beds, spreading mulch, planting flowers
and bulbs, and trimming trees and shrubs. In addition, we may paint and
organize the Recreation Center. Please bring yard work equipment: shovels,
gloves, hand trowels, wheelbarrows, clippers, etc. If you would like to
donate food, bulbs, mulch or plants to the project, please give Mike or
Andy a call. We will group for lunch after our work is done! Children
are welcome to work alongside their parents.
Location/Directions:
Linden Recreation Center at 1254 Briarwood Ave., Columbus, 43211. From I-71,
exit at Hudson Avenue and go East (away from Lowes/campus). Turn left on
McGuffey Road (there is a traffic light at this intersection--if you get
to Cleveland Ave, you have gone too far). Go three blocks and turn right
on Briarwood Avenue. When you get to the "one way, do not enter" sign,
turn left on Hamilton Ave (you will now be driving beside the park). Take
the first right, going in front of the Recreation Center, parking is on the
other side. Depending on weather, we will either meet you at the shelter
behind the Recreation Center or inside of the building. Look for the College
of Wooster banner!
