Please join Wooster alumni, family, and friends for a day of the ?Rollin
and BrushinO?L Project for Pride in Living, a non-profit serving low and
moderate income families in the Twin Cities. We will paint apartments
and common spaces at PPL?s Louisiana Courts Apartments. Please wear
old clothes for painting, and bring a paint brush and/or short step
ladder if you have them. Children ages 14 and older are welcome to participate.
Thanks for volunteering to help with this year's project - Rollin' and
Brushin' for PPL. Project for Pride in Living is a great, local nonprofit
serving low and moderate income people in the Twin Cities Area. We will
be painting apartments and common space in the Louisiana Court Apartments
in St. Louis Park. The address is 2720 Louisiana Court and directions
are provided under our schedule below.
A good group has volunteered. We have 15 people signed up so far representing
Wooster classes from 1945 to 2005!
Here's our schedule for next Saturday.
8:45 to 9:00 a.m. - arrive and share coffee and baked goods.
9:00 to 9:15 a.m. - orientation by PPL staff
9:15 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. - painting and cleanup
1:00 to 1:30 p.m. - light lunch of sandwiches, fruit soft drinks, etc. and
socializing (optional)
All food will be provided including bottled water to use while we paint.
Here are the directions.
Get onto I-394 either from the west or from downtown Minneapolis and
exit at
Louisiana Avenue
At the top of the ramp if you came from the west (headed towards downtown
Minneapolis) turn right (south) on Louisiana Avenue.
At the top of the ramp if you cam from the east (headed towards Minnetonka
and Wayzata), turn left (south) on Louisiana Avenue.
Proceed down Louisiana Avenue crossing Franklin Avenue and Cedar Lake Road.
After crossing Cedar Lake Road, you will see the large, blue St. Louis Park
water tower on you right.
Look for 28th Street (which is the second traffic light after you pass the
water tower).
Turn right (west) on 28th Street.
Look for Louisiana Court (just one block)
Turn right (north) on Louisiana Court.
The office with the 2720 address is dead ahead. Someone will be there to
direct you to the correct parking lot and building for our project.
I will have my cell phone with me Saturday morning, so if you have trouble
finding Louisiana Court Apartments or need to reach me on Saturday, use that
number.
