Chicago Project 2001:
Work Day at Deborahs Place
Deborah's Place, a private not-for-profit corporation, serves women in
Chicago who are homeless or formerly homeless. Dedicated volunteers and
staff provide food, shelter and supportive services so that women can
become empowered to take back and maintain control over their lives. Chicago-area
Wooster alumni helped with needed work at the shelter facility. This included
painting in several areas of the shelter; performing weatherization work
such as removing Air Conditioning units from the windows and sealing open
areas; and performing Fall landscaping at the facility. Learn more about
the organization at the website for Deborahs Place: www.deborahsplace.org
