Connections

Ann Kuebbeler '61 (wife of Dave) is a delegate to the Presbyterian Church General Assembly in San Jose in June. She'd like to hook up with fellow Wooster grads who will be there. Ann will be at the reunion, or contact her at cte37943@centurytel.net.

Dorms

Because of the strong connections women formed with dorm mates during freshman year, an effort will be made during our 50th reunion to set aside time for Third-Floor Compton, Hoover Cottage, Miller Manor, Westminster Cottage, and Scott Cottage women (with their spouses and others) to socialize and have photos taken. Check out the “Who’s coming” list and get on the phone, e-mail or write a note to encourage your girlfriends to come the reunion!

Miller Reunion

Anne and Bruce Hunt visited
Jeanne (Muffy) McKay Paradise on a recent trip to Boston. Jeanne is a retired psychologist and artist. She and husband, Scott, live near Harvard University.

Compton - Sophomore year

FOUND: Ginger (Marion) Shriver Komar responded to Jo Rhine Cunningham's search on this site -- and she is coming to the reunion!

Lyall Ritchie Rogers, who lived there, is still recovering from a bad fall that shattered her knee and put her into a brace all summer. She is now getting around with a cane, and says she doesn’t think she’ll make it to the reunion. She could use some encouragement! Let us know if you’d like to contact her.

Add Elaine Theurer Kirke to the dorm list. She remembered that she was in Compton when she was filling out the Wooster reunion form. She had searched the yearbook for clues to her dorms, and the only photo of she found was one of her making selections on a jukebox. Elaine transferred to Western Reserve after her sophomore year.

Send us names, photos, stories…

Compton Hall

Compton Hall (2007)

Our all female residence hall houses first years through seniors. This dorm has an attractive formal lounge space as well as a quaint parlor in which its residents can read, study, or socialize. Attached to Compton is Kittredge Dining Hall which serves tasty, healthy dishes.

La Maison Française

Of our class of ‘58, Dee, Lillie, Mila, Janet DeBar, and I lived in French House just our junior year. There were some sophomores, and a student from Iran, already married (her husband wasn't at Wooster) whose religion was Baha’i. I think they were going to be Baha’i missionaries. Our year, Manou, the French assistant , and Mlle Suzanne Hélein, a French instructor, also lived there. It was an oldish house, a former single-family dwelling. A retired missionary couple lived next door. They invited us in to watch their TV with them when Dr. Gore was on national TV.

The photo, taken at a recent Las Vegas night affair, shows his wife, daughters and grandchildren. The extra gentleman and the "lady with the flat abdomen" (a prop) are not members of his immediate family. Go Moe!
